Read the Kogan Third Party Property Damage Car Insurance Combination Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement for more details, including applicable limits, exclusions, and terms and restrictions.

Remember!
The Third Party Property Damage Vehicle Insurance is not the same as a green slip, which is the legally required Third Party (CTP) insurance. Please remember to obtain CTP insurance separately.

The Kogan Third Party Property Automobile Damage Insurance does not cover damage to your own vehicle. Compare auto insurance policies to see which one best fits your needs.

CTP explained (also known as Green Slips in NSW)

Compulsory third-party (CTP) insurance (also referred to as a Green Slip in New South Wales) is mandatory. CTP insurance covers the cost of third-party compensation claims if you, or anyone driving your car, injures someone in an accident.

CTP insurance provides cover to third parties, such as other drivers, passengers, motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians, who could claim against you in the event of an accident.

How does CTP insurance work?

Buying or owning a new car? You need to have CTP insurance in place before you can register your car in New South Wales.

Then, if you, or anyone driving your car, causes an accident where someone else is injured, your CTP will cover their compensation claim. This includes cover for other drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists, and cyclists who are injured in the accident.

CTP insurance doesn’t cover damage to your car or anyone else’s vehicle or property – you should consider comprehensive car insurance.

Factors that influence the cost of Kogan car insurance:

  1. Policy type and optional extras selected
  2. Claims history of the drivers who will operate the vehicle
  3. Age and driving experience of the drivers
  4. Age, make, and model of the vehicle, and any accessories or modifications
  5. Postcode where the car is kept and whether or not it will be garaged overnight
  6. Vehicle usage
  7. Agreed value of the car
  8. Excess chosen by the policyholder.

There are several ways to save money on your Kogan policy. Consider the following tips:

  1. Buy online: Kogan offers up to 12% off your premium if you purchase your policy online. Additionally, Kogan may provide a $100 Kogan.com credit for signing up.
  2. Assess your level of coverage: Determine the amount of coverage you need. If the comprehensive cover is unnecessary, you could save money by selecting a more basic level offering additional benefits and features.
  3. Choose extras carefully: Only select the extras that you require. For instance, your credit card may provide complimentary roadside assistance, which means that you can avoid paying for this additional feature on your policy.

Optional Benefits

Kogan Comprehensive Car Insurance offers optional benefits that can be added to customize your policy. Here are some of the available options:

  1. Hire Car – Extra: If you rely on your car to get to work or go about your day, being left without a vehicle can be inconvenient. Adding Hire Car – Extra to your Kogan Comprehensive Car Insurance means you can avoid being stranded if your car is damaged. This option covers the reasonable daily cost of a suitable hire car for up to 14 days while your car is being fixed.
  2. ‘No Excess’ Windscreen: Windscreen repairs can be costly, even for small chips. By adding this option, you won’t need to pay an excess if your claim is only for damage to your car’s windscreen, sunroof, or window glass that requires replacement rather than repair. This benefit includes no excess for the first claim of each insurance period and access to professional windscreen repairs.
  3. Choice of Repairer: Kogan will usually use a QBE Accredited Smash Repairer or another licensed repairer to fix your car under the policy. However, you can select which licensed repairer you prefer with the Choice of Repairer option. If you choose to use this option, you will need to obtain a quote from your chosen repairer, allow Kogan to assess the quote and your car, and permit them to get another quote if necessary.

Note that the above is a summary of the available optional benefits. Refer to the Kogan Comprehensive Car Insurance Combined Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement for full details, including limits, exclusions, and conditions that apply.
