Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen is on a roll, winning hearts with his versatile and passionate performances. Now, he’s bringing us a gritty gangster drama, Gangs of Godavari, hitting the big screens on May 31. This intense movie, penned and helmed by Krishna Chaitanya, features Anjali and Neha Shetty as the female leads. Adding to the buzz, the music maestro Yuvan Shankar Raja is crafting the film’s soundtrack.
Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are the brains behind this project, with their banners Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas producing it. Venkat Upputuri and Gopichand Innumuri co-produce, while Srikara Studios presents the film.
Anjali recently spilt the beans about her role in the movie. She’s stepping out of her comfort zone, playing a character who’s raw and real, complete with some spicy dialogue. Anjali’s character, Rathnamala, is worlds apart from her usual girl-next-door roles. She embraced the challenge, even going makeup-free to fit the 80s backdrop. She said working on this film was tough yet rewarding, especially mastering the unique accent required for her role.
Vishwak and Anjali’s on-screen chemistry promises to be electric. Anjali mentioned that their characters, Rathnamala and Rathnakar, are intertwined in more ways than one. She praised Vishwak’s transformation from his usual urban role to a more rustic persona, adding that the set was always lively and fun.
Anjali also highlighted the seamless execution of Krishna Chaitanya’s vision, predicting the film will be a massive hit and a breakthrough for the director. With the production quality of Sithara Entertainment and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s magical tunes, Gangs of Godavari is poised to be a blockbuster.
Anjali’s excitement doesn’t end here; she has a packed schedule of projects in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
