She became famous after her song “Ayyo Saami” went viral on the Internet and became a trend on YouTube. The video had 2 million views in a week. Windy was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and currently resides in New York, USA. She is the daughter of Sri Lankan musician and singer Rookantha Goonatillake and Chandralekha Perera. She is also the younger sister of the well-known Sri Lankan singer Raini Charuka Goonatillake.
