Samanalee Fonseka is a Sri Lankan actress and model known for her outstanding performances in Sri Lankan cinema and television. She was born on November 23, 1981, and holds a B. A degree from the University of Colombo and a Postgraduate diploma in fine arts from the University of Peradeniya. Samanalee started her career as a child artist and made her acting debut with Paradisaya by Dinesh Priyasad. She gained popularity with her performance in Prasanna Vithanage’s Akasa Kusum. She went on to act in critically acclaimed films such as Motor Bicycle, Premaya Nam, Vindana Ariyawansa, Nimnayaka Hudakalawa, and Dewena Vihangun.
Apart from acting, Samanalee is a social activist who stands against racism, gender inequality, and other social issues in Sri Lanka. She has won numerous awards for her outstanding performances in films, including the Sarasaviya Best Actress Award. Samanalee’s family is deeply rooted in the Sri Lankan cinema industry, and she is related to several popular actors and actresses. She is currently married to popular singer Indrachapa Liyanage, and the couple has been actively involved in social and political issues in the country.
