Loreen, also known as Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui, is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Stockholm in 1983 to Moroccan Berber immigrant parents, she grew up in Västerås and became known to Swedish audiences after participating in the Swedish Idol competition in 2004.
Loreen released her first single, “The Snake,” with the group Rob’n’Raz in 2005 and became a television presenter on TV400. She then worked as a segment producer and director for reality TV shows while pursuing her music career. In 2011, Loreen took part in Melodifestivalen with the song “My Heart Is Refusing Me.”
She went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 with Euphoria, which topped the charts in numerous European countries. She has since released multiple albums and singles, toured extensively, and returned to Melodifestivalen in 2017 with the song “Statements.” Loreen has a strong social media following and has been praised for her unique music style and stage presence.
